I WANT TO THANK YOU - EL COUNT EXECUTIVES - (ITALY IMPORT) PREVIOUSLY
UNRELEASED DEMO ACETATE RARE SLOW VERSION (LAST COPIES ON THE
    PLANET!!!!)

    Written by: J.M. Valle

Unsurfaced from the Vatican, a previously unreleased rola from Detroit circa 1976, is set to hit the coras(hearts) of collectors in every varrio (neighborhood) in Aztlan! Transferred from a previously unreleased demo acetate and dug out from out the wild titled El C. Exec. with no song title or credits. This previously undiscovered gem has everything we love about these rare rolas (songs). Call and response Group Harmony, falsetto vocals and a tempo that'll keep them elbows up and burning chanclas (shoes on the dancefloor) !
This is the same vocal group, El Count Executives who cut "Pot Of Gold" b /w "Nothing Comes To A Sleeper (But A Dream)" on Gemini Records recently reissued by Symphonical Records. The OG sells for $500+.

Italian label Cannonball Records known for their innovation of funk investigating previously
unreleased demos and completing them into full songs, pressed 500 copies, cut 2 different
versions and titled the rola "I Want To Thank You".

Cannonball dedicated the record to Paul Thrower, one of Europe's Soul scene legends.
Because it was a demo, and largely bare, Cannonball Records added tracks to give the demo the production it deserved. The more well known version is an uptempo crossover between Soul and Disco with added percussion, a string section and sped up to cater to Europe's Northern Soul and Crossover scenes.

The flip is my personal favorite, midtempo, male vocal group harmony, low and slow, and full of Soul! Because it was first released in 2017, it was basically slept on by the Chicano and Rare Oldies scene. Copies sell anywhere from $25 to $50 on Discogs and have been largely isolated to Europe until now. In fact, there is no digital or YouTube video of the firme side, no videos with firme hynas (pretty ladies) or lowriders of the rola until my personal post on my Raza del Soul Top 100 #1 YouTube Playlist.

My eyes were peeled to the rola for years, 5 to be exact! I noticed that there was still copies
available, little to no acknowledgement from the Raza, and the rola has remained under the
radar until now. In partnership with Captial City Records, together we bought the entire remaining lot of this bad ass rola that will continue to be cherished by the platter boxes of homeboys for years to come!
